Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is an encoding method. It is reversible and does not require a secret key.
Encode and decode text strings, binary data, and files into Base64 format.

Choose 'Encode' to turn text into Base64 or 'Decode' to read Base64.
Type/paste text or drop a file to process.
Copy the resulting Base64 or decoded text with one click.

Three bytes of input become four Base64 characters, so the encoded representation is about 33% larger before additional formatting or transport overhead.
They use closely related encoding rules, but the URL-safe form substitutes `-` and `_` for `+` and `/` so the result is easier to place inside URLs and similar contexts.
Encoding a password or secret as Base64 does not protect it. Sensitive values need proper security controls, and passwords should normally be handled with password-specific hashing rather than reversible encoding.
